Week 2: January 27– February 02
The Standing on the Side of Love campaign is rooted in Unitarian Universalist principles, but our spirit is interfaith and increasingly we encompass individuals from many faith traditions. Nevertheless, we all believe that each of us is connected and that it takes a village to build the Beloved Community. Let us unite with those from different backgrounds who share our common goal of a more just and loving world.
The Month Ahead

“Zora Neale Hurston said fear is the greatest emotion and I said, ‘No my dear sister.’ Fear will make us move to save our own skins. Love also makes us save ourselves, but it will make us move to save others as well.”
– Sonia Sanchez
Over the last several months, we’ve seen an uptick in hateful attacks against religious minorities in our country, from the tragic shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin to the arson attack at the mosque in Joplin, Missouri. In response, to the Wisconsin shooting, SSL supporters wrote over 2,000 messages of love and support to the Sikh community there.
We’re gathering a love & kindess response network to send love immediately whenever incidents of hate occur. Sign up here.
