This fantastic note comes from Theresa Novak of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden, Utah.

Note from Cora’s mom:

We may have a budding activist on our hands. All the students in Cora’s class were asked to write a letter to the President; most asked questions like “what’s your day like?” and “how’s your dog?”

Not our Cora!

She asked President Obama to help Ogden pass the Non-discrimination ordinances!

You go Cora! When my children were your age, they would have loved to have had you as a classmate. Most of the time they were the only kids in their class who had two mommies. Now, they are all grown up and one of them has a son who is in first grade himself. I hope you get to play together at General Assembly, or at a UU Camp or Conference soon. Together you will be the ones who make all the difference in the world!
Much love from a UU grandmother.

  3. Rebecca Rice says:

Cora, thank you! You’re wonderful. I’m a UU too, and I love beautiful questions! I’m going to show your letter to my kids.

  4. Jim Bryant says:

Although I disagree with the lifestyle, I agree with cora’s statement.
We as adults and Christians do not have to agree with each other, but as Americans that are free to make choices and pick lifestyles. We cannot pick and chose who can or cannot enter any establishment.
    Good job cora.
